Natwins

Packaging design, art direction, design of packs and guidelines

Challenge

In 2019 we began working with Girofibra, a company with four decades of experience in producing healthy cookies and cereal bars following their own recipes.

At that time, we simultaneously conceptualized and redesigned the packaging for the firm’s Natwins brand and, a year later, we started working on the corporate website.

We have continued our collaboration ever since and, on this occasion, we have been asked to design the packaging of a new range of 200g high-fiber whole grain oats cookies made with no added sugar.

The design has followed the same objectives that we set for ourselves when we developed the Natwins healthy cookies and bars packagings: to faithfully communicate the company’s commitment to consumers, inviting them to “enjoy the products’ flavours at any time of the day while staying healthy” .

Project Development

In order to carry out the packaging design of the 3 recipes that make up this product range (basic oats, oats with apple, coconut and almond, and oats with dark chocolate) we worked around the concept of “a mouthful of oats“, since oats are the core ingredient of those biscuits presented as mini-cookies.

Taking into account the amount of technical limitations involved in terms of food preservation, we came up with a packaging solution that facilitates recycling by easily separating plastic from cardboard materials.

Its design allows the consumer to perfectly discern the product and its qualities. The customization of the uniquely shaped cardboard band wrap endows it with a marked personality and prominence at the point of sale.

The recycled cardboard band wrap, which also contains the brand information, the mini-cookies’ ingredients and its nutritional table, achieves branding continuity –like all the other Natwins product ranges do– while staying graphically coherent.

The colour palette reflects the flavours of the recipes, whereas the custom-made hand-created illustrations highlight the brand’s main ingredients.

Result

The resulting range of vegan GMO-free, palm-oil-free mini-cookies with no added sugars is presented through a packaging design that conveys the brand’s values, highlights the qualities of the product and achieves prominence at the point of sale.
