Best packaging design for Lékué at the IED Design Awards 2018
The past June 21, we attended the third IED Design Awards 2018, which took place at the Italian Embassy in Madrid. This year, the jury of experts, made up of 13 professionals from different areas of design, awarded us with the prize for the best packaging project for our work with Lékué.
This award acknowledges our design proposal throughout Lékué’s product packaging design project. It also values its quality and creativity as essential elements in the project’s development. Our work, produced during the last 10 years of collaboration, was a key factor for the growth of the company. Lékué is currently present in over 23.000 points of sale and in over 50 million homes all over the world.
At the gala, which was presented by the journalist and writer Sandra Barneda, IED Madrid gave out awards to all the creative teams, products or services which have contributed to adding value to the role of design and creativity during the past year. Congratulations to all the winners!
Packaging design for Lékué: A fundamental element that communicates innovation and design
In this year’s edition of the IED Design Awards, Creative Director Esther Agustench and Uxua Solé, Art Director and Account Manager for Lékué, flew in to pick up the award on behalf of Nomon Design. Their presence represented each and every member of the team which contributed to the creation of the project for all the past years.
A whole decade in which, alongside our client Lékué and all our partners and collaborators, we have worked on creating a brand identity that communicates innovation and design but, above all, that conveys our passion for food and cooking to the end consumer. With the design of Lékué’s product packaging not only have we achieved to be awarded with this prize but we have also enjoyed the satisfaction of being part of the growth of a brand.
A decade alongside Lékué, innovating in the kitchen
In 2015, we celebrated 10 years collaboration with Lékué, a decade during which we have helped create a consumer-orientated brand linked to design and innovation. In 2005, concurring with the arrival of Xavier Costa, Lékué’s Managing Director, design thinking was incorporated into the company’s business strategy and our joint efforts focused on the development of products for the kitchen.

IED Design Awards, a reflection of good relationship and involvement
Lékué’s current image is a reflection of our good relationship and everybody’s commitment. Uxua Solé, Nomon Design’s Art Director and Accounts Manager, for example, remembers that “in 2010, we created Lékué’s first recipe book and the photo session that went with it really marked out the lifestyle of the brand. We remember it with great fondness because we organised a celebratory lunch which everyone attended –the Lékué team, Luki Huber, the photographer, the home economist and Nomon Design.”
All of the photo shootings, fairs, meetings, and so much more, have helped build the main foundations of our excellent relationship. “Working with Nomon Design is like dealing with a department in your own company: communication is very direct and based on trust. They’re very agile and flexible and make day-to-day work so much easier. They get actively involved in all of the projects we work on together, sharing their enthusiasm, excitement and desire to do a good job.
